Duties and Responsibilities: Managing life support mechanical ventilation systems. Administering aerosol-based medications. Monitoring equipment related to cardiopulmonary therapy. Analyzing blood samples to determine levels of oxygen and other gases. Managing artificial airways.

Median hourly rate: $28.21

Education:An associate’s degree is the minimum formal education required for entry level respiratory therapist positions, although many respiratory therapists possess bachelor degrees. Respiratory therapist programs can be found at colleges and universities, vocational and technical schools, as well as the U.S. Armed Forces.
