THE DODGE DEMON

THE DODGE DEMON
I chose this topic because its the best muscle car world wide, and its my dream car.

Even during engine testing, according to Chris Cow land, director of advanced and SRT power train engineering, the equipment was calibrated so the engine appeared to have the horsepower provided by a Hellcat, an engine with 707 horsepower.
But the Demon's engine, which produces 840 horsepower, is a very different engine.
The Demon, which was revealed at the New York International Auto Show after weeks of teaser videos that includes clues about its performance and engineering.
Now Dodge has released more details that will likely keep up the anticipation for gear heads and anyone else who wonders what this car with a 6.2-liter Hemi V-8 can do when it goes on sale this fall.
Here are five new facts about the Demon revealed by Dodge in Pontiac on Thursday:
  • During a quarter-mile run, the Demon V-8 ingests 173 cubic feet of air. That’s equivalent to the lung capacity of 816 humans.
  • At rated power, high-octane fuel flows at 1.36 gallons per minute. A typical shower head flows at 2 gallons per minute.
  • 800 feet into a quarter-mile run, the Demon V-8 would empty all the air in the cabin of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon -- 105 cubic feet.
  • More than 1 ton is transferred from the front to rear wheels at launch.
  • The car produces so much launch force that brakes alone will not hold it, so the car relies on transmission locks.
